Upward Bound
Upward Bound at the University of Cincinnati Clermont College encourages life-long learning through a learning community that enables high school students in Clermont and Brown Counties to develop and enhance the intellectual, cultural and social skills necessary for success in postsecondary education. Upward Bound is an educational enrichment program funded by the U.S. Department of Education and administered by UC Clermont College. Upward Bound helps to provide the necessary skills to high school students so they may become successful college students. Successful Upward Bound students are part of the first generation in their family to enter and graduate from college. Upward Bound serves 56 high school students in eight school districts in Clermont and Brown Counties. Services include Saturday Academies and a six-week Summer Academy on the Clermont College campus. Other services include academic and career advising, assistance in applying for college and for financial aid, tutoring, college visits, cultural field trips, leadership conferences, ACT preparation and summer career internships. Educational Talent Search
Educational Talent Search (ETS) at the University of Cincinnati Clermont College encourages and enhances the intellectual, cultural and social development of middle and high school students in Clermont County through learning experiences that supplement the school experience and promote participation in postsecondary education. ETS is an educational enrichment program funded by the U.S. Department of Education and administered by UC Clermont College. ETS works with school counselors and teachers to encourage students to complete high school and enroll in a postsecondary education program. ETS encourages college awareness for middle school students as well as for high school students. Successful ETS students are part of the first generation in their family to enter and graduate from college. ETS serves 650 students in grades six through twelve in nine school districts in Clermont County. Services include monthly workshops at the schools, academic and career advising, assistance in applying for college and for financial aid, tutoring, college visits, cultural field trips, leadership conferences and ACT preparation.
