In support of this mission, we will promote and assist those involved with college and career planning, which include motivational programming, one-on-one mentoring, and financial assistance. Karlh McCallister Memorial Golf Tournament planned for Saturday, July 24
The Karlh McCallister Memorial Golf Tournament is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at the Greenville Golf Course. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Darke County College Access Program.
“This tournament will honor Karlh McCallister, raise money for the Darke County College Access Program, and give golfers a great day of golf and fun,” said Mike Barker, organizer for this year’s event.
In addition to operating Hansbarger Home Solutions, Karlh was an active community leader and served on many local boards. He also was instrumental in starting the Darke County College Access Program several years ago.
Barker said the tournament is scheduled to start at 1 p.m., and the cost is $70 per individual or $280 for a team of four.  The golf tournament will precede a luau dinner party to be held later that evening.
“We’ve decided to make this tournament a little different than other golf tournaments,” Barker said. “We’re going to play a select drive type of format, where everyone tees off and the best drive is selected. A golfer will then play his or her own ball in from that spot. This format will distinguish us from most other tournaments that use the best-ball scramble format.”
For more information or a registration form, please contact Mike Barker at phone (937) 423-1924 or email  mike.barker@hansbargerhomesolutions.com.
