The I CAN Center of Excellence is a regional, nonprofit college access organization that identifies state and national higher education resources and best practices, and collaborates with local partners to disburse information to young people and adults in the Ohio counties of Crawford, Delaware, Hardin, Marion, Morrow, Union, and Wyandot to assure that they have the information needed to enroll in and successfully complete postsecondary education including two and four year degrees, certifications, and apprenticeships.
The I CAN Center of Excellence will utilize partnerships with The Ohio State University at Marion, Marion Technical College, Marion Area Tech-Prep Consortium, Otterbein University, Ohio Wesleyan University, Columbus Community College, the local school districts, Departments of Job and Family Services, United Way programs, and the local chambers of commerce in the seven county service area.
The I CAN Center of Excellence has been created with the following mission:
1. Motivate and encourage all children to stay in school and purse postsecondary education; and to make them and their parents aware of the benefits of a postsecondary education.
2. Advise families and their children regarding how to pay for postsecondary education.
3. Provide last-dollar grant assistance as individually required to qualified students who have demonstrated financial need and who are admitted to an accredited two-or four-year program of study.
4. Provide these services to students in Crawford, Delaware, Hardin, Morrow, Union, and Wyandot Counties (Ohio).
