We’re all a part of college access work because we have something in common: we’re interested in impacting the lives of students by improving their ability to access and succeed in postsecondary endeavors. We also know that while it’s passion that fuels us, it’s data that funds us.
A Solution: Web-Enabled Student Tracking (WEST)
OCAN, in collaboration with college access programs, from front-line staff to executive directors, built WEST to store and track data in through an end product that would be simple, powerful, and driven by the mission of college access. WEST is a no-frills, bells or whistles online database designed to do one thing for a rock-bottom cost: house, track and report student success related to college access services and programming.

augsburgerd@ohiocan.org if you're interested exploring WEST to track the actions that you and your team take to determine which of those actions / interactions / events / programs are impactful, and perhaps, even, those that are not-so-impactful, on your students’ success.
The purpose is meaningful data correlation: In one place, for one cost annually, WEST combines student success data (in terms of postsecondary enrollment and persistence), and the college access activities that influenced the level of success for each student.
Features:
Automated milestone tracking feature for a snapshot of a student’s progress towards success.
Financial aid calculator that cuts through the numbers to provide an “apples to apples” comparison of financial aid offers from different colleges.
NEW! Secure Data Uploader enables college access programs to independently load student information and related data in batches from spreadsheets or text files exported from other databases.
